For the past 22 years, bankruptcy trustees, professionals, and judges have come together every year for an afternoon of fun and friendship in honor of the late Ardelle Williams. Ardelle, who was a panel bankruptcy trustee in San Diego prior to her passing, was passionate about supporting victims of domestic violence and their children. Ardelle felt particularly strong that domestic violence victims need access to safe and confidential emergency housing for themselves and their children in order to escape their abusers. The annual golf tournament has provided a platform to raise money for local charitable organizations that provide the services to fulfill that need. Today, funds raised by the annual golf tournament benefit the Center for Community Solutions, a San Diego nonprofit agency providing a multitude of services for over 30,000 adults and children who have been subjected to relationship and sexual violence. Through the Project Safehouse and Hidden Valley House programs, CCS offers no-cost, 30-day emergency housing for domestic violence victims and their children. The CCS Next Step program also offers transitional housing for up to 12 months for victims of domestic violence and their children. In addition to housing, CCS also offers victims a variety of legal and social services, including safety planning, food and clothing, CCS legal services, on-site support groups for adults, and children’s counseling, education, and advocacy services. We appreciate your support of the tournament, CCS, and Ardelle’s important legacy. Together we can make a difference.
